About Me
How I Started Machining
I began my machinist apprenticeship at 20, working on nuclear submarines and falling in love with the craft from day one. Starting with manual lathes and mills and eventually mastering everything from waterjets to 5‑axis CNC mills, I learned the full spectrum of machining and component repair. Becoming a Subject Matter Expert taught me how to think mechanically, solve problems no one had solved before, and approach every challenge with precision and creativity.
Solving Problems No One Else Could
My work centered around disassembling, diagnosing, repairing, reassembling, and testing complex mechanical components — from massive steam valves to hydraulic actuators. I’ve been recognized for tackling jobs few others could, including receiving the “Recognition of Outstanding Department of War Civilian Employees’ Initiative” for my contributions. That experience shaped how I approach every project: methodically, patiently, and with a deep respect for the craft.
Crafting Meaningful, One-of-a Kind Pieces
Outside of Navy work, I’ve always been drawn to creating pieces that matter. Things like engagement rings made with sand from the beach where a couple first met to cremation rings honoring loved ones, I love building things with purpose and emotional weight. Taking on projects that will have a deep impact on someone’s life pieces that carry stories, memories, and meaning is what fulfills me.
More Than Metal
In 2025, my fiancé Natalie was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma at the age of 23. The isolation and grief that something like this causes sticks with someone for the rest of their life. It was through her determination and optimism along with amazing support from our amazing family and friends did we make it through.
We both knew the best way to handle these kinds of tragedies is to reflect the kindness we were showed and be there for others who are experiencing or have experienced the same
That experience and my passion for machining led me to start the More Than Metal project: a way to give back to an incredible community and make a positive impact through the craft I’ve dedicated my life to. Creating custom pieces completely free for people fighting cancer as well as those who have fought it or experienced it in some way, and sharing their stories is the most meaningful work I’ve ever done, and it’s become the heart of my mission.
Sympathy can go a long way in helping but with something like this, it means so much more to hear others who have been through it or are also fighting it. A reminder that you are not alone, and give these people the power to use what can be the worst thing to happen to someone as a tool for good. The pieces I want to be a reminder to them that they matter and wear or show it as a badge of honor rather that their story matters and they are seen.

Everything I make reflects the love and passion I bring to this craft. I live and breathe machining and metal art, and I’m committed to becoming the best I can be — not just in skill, but in the impact my work has on the people who trust me with their stories.
